HOW I MOVED TO CANADA AND BUILT MY BRAND ONLINE — @abyshomekitchen

I migrated to Canada in September 2015 with a Visitor visa as my MPNP has started from 2014 and was still in processing.

In early 2015, my husband went for training in the US and a friend we knew in Canada had talked about him being able to fill up a job role and they scheduled a one on one meeting with the company in Winnipeg.

So my husband stopped by in Winnipeg around early 2015 for the interview and was later given the job offer.

So he landed in Canada with a working permit because the company was able to leverage on the fact that we had a processing PR and they contacted and chatted with the processing office.

So, because we had planned to visit Canada we already had a 5 year visa. Then the kids and I came in as visitors in September 2015.

Fast forward to November 2016, we finally got our PR.

H: Tell us about starting your brand in the diaspora.

Abyshomekitchen started not until around the first quarter of 2019.

@abyshomekitchen is basically a food blogging page that showcases easy and healthy meals directly from my kitchen and the idea is to share this to others.

There are definitely challenges of getting your target audience, being consistent in creating helpful and useful content.

I’ve always held on to the fact that having love and passion for what you do is the key to being successful in it even in the midst of challenges.
