HOW DID YOU START ADUNADE?
Passion birthed AdunAde. Determination launched it.
I had a sense of fulfilment when friends and family displayed gladness and satisfaction after eating my home cooked meals. This pushed me to want to make a difference somehow in people’s lives through food. I spoke with a friend who believed in my vision and eventually ended up partnering with me. Through many changes and ideas, AdunAde was finalised and we just carried on.
Usually, people feel it’s necessary to get everything to perfection before starting out and that’s why it took so long to get to AdunAde. However, we finally stuck with our guts and made a decision and instructed ourselves that continuous improvement was key to work towards perfection.
How do we achieve growth without sacrificing quality? We want to buy top notch ingredients but they’re expensive but we also want to give our customers an amazing experience. So how do we balance the two? This is why the ability to manage finances well was very important because unless people order in large quantities, profit is minimal. This is why passion, persistence and determination pushed us further.
Compliance is important but challenging. So we find ourselves constantly learning about what we need to do to protect ourselves and our customers.
WHAT HAS KEPT YOU GOING?
I’m joined by a silent partner who is very helpful and displays so much enthusiasm. Our faith is the most important thing that keeps us going. Having a positive mindset and setting SMART goals. When we see opportunities, we grab them without thinking, hoping that they will take us a step closer to where we need to be. Rome was not built in a day. Many successful businesses today would not exist without failures and challenges. So patience helps.
